$5 Quilt Club

$5 Quilt Club is always held on the Second Saturday of each month at 10am, as well as at 5:30pm on the Friday evening before. This may or may not be the second Friday of the month. Remember, always the Second Saturday and the evning before! We do not need to know which session you're coming to -- just show up. If you wish, you may bring a camp chair just in case we run out of chairs.

RULES!

Just buy your first block kit (fabric and instructions) for $5, follow the rules, and get each block after that for FREE!
Follow all the rules, and you can make a quilt top for just $5! 

Two Simple RULES:

1)  Arrive On Time.  We will open the doors a little early on $5 Quilt Club days so that we can start at 10am on Saturday or 5:30pm on Fridays.  We'll then show you all the cool new stuff at Asheville Cotton Co.! It's sort of like an info-mercial. After that, we do show-and-tell, where our quilt club members show off their projects. We plan on keeping the meetings short - approx. 45 minutes to an hour long.

2)  Purchase the first block kit (includes fabric and pattern!) for $5, and then Bring Your Finished Block to the Next Month's Club to get that month's kit for free!  If you don't bring your completed block to the Club meeting or don't make it to the meeting at all, you may purchase the next block kit for $5 any time AFTER $5 Quilt Club (in other words, no picking up block kits in advance).  You must show up yourself; ie., no sending someone else to take your place. We have two different colorways from which to choose. If you wish, you may purchase the second colorway for $5 each month. Many club members do! In other words, you only get one free block per month, even if you complete both.

You may also wish to make the optional finishing blocks. If you do, your quilt top will end up being 12" larger all the way around, and you will get the chance to have fun with some other techniques such as paper piecing and applique. With additional borders and the optional finishing blocks, you could easily make this quilt into a queen size quilt.

No need to register...

In order for us to offer this fantastic program, we have to insist on the two rules.  We know life gets in the way sometimes, but please don't put us in the awkward position of having to tell you, "no," by asking us to bend the rules.  Remember, if you follow the rules, you'll make a quilt for $5, but even if you have to purchase all 12 block kits at $5 each, it's still a great deal!!!

Since this is such a great deal, and we're going to have such a great time, we expect to have standing room only! We have enough chairs for the first 40 or so, but please bring a folding camp chair if you are unable to stand for 45 minutes, just in case. (We'll be glad to come out to your car to get it if you need the chair.)
