Whether you are a complete newbie or already have a serger, you'll get to see lots of little tips and tricks. Betty has a trunk show of samples she's bringing to show all the amazing things a serger can do.

In the afternoon, Betty will show us the amazing features of the new Baby Lock Solaris. What a machine! The Solaris has taken sewing and embroidery to new heights. This amazing machine does things you never imagined. Betty will demonstrate the Solaris while wowing you with the incredible features. You'll also be able to see how easy this machine really is to use! Whether you own an older Baby Lock, the Destiny II, the new Solaris or even a different brand of machine, you'll get lots of inspiration and ideas from Betty's presentation. She's even bringing her trunk full of samples!

We'll have door prizes, a light lunch and special event pricing throughout the store!

Your $20 holds your spot, but you'll get back more than $20 in coupons to use throughout the store when you come.

Instructor: Betty Mitchell
Instructor Bio: Betty Mitchell began her love affair with the sewing machine at the age of eight and it has grown ever since. She spent 30 years in Rhode Island teaching Family and Consumer Sciences and "retired" to work for sewing machine dealers in southwest Florida for eight years. During that time she not only sold machines and taught classes, she also spent three years as a store manager for one of the largest dealers in the country. At the same time she began teaching at national dealer conventions, various sewing and quilting shows as well as local and regional sewing guilds. Nine years ago she re-retired to her Grandchildren in Kentucky. She still teaches at a couple of local stores and has launched a line of patterns. Two years ago she and Pam Damour co-authored Hold Everything, Purses Totes and More and this fall will see the release of their new book Power Serge. Originally a garment sewer, she now concentrates more on Home Decor, embroidery, accessories and sergers. Her classes are meant to be informative and relaxing. Betty says, "In the end it's just a bunch of thread and fiber to have fun with! If there's a sewing tool or fabric that I haven't met it's not because I haven't tried. I firmly believe that I'l never have enough fabric and I certainly deserve the best tools."
