Every Day Bag / Reusable Grocery Bag



In this class you will learn how to make a simple grocery/everyday bag with either short straps or over the shoulder straps. You can also add a pocket on the front for small items.



SUPPLIES REQUIRED:

Sewing machine in good working order
cutting mat
quilter’s rulers
rotary cutter
scissors, large or small
seam ripper
pins
removable/erasable marking pen
measuring tape
thread

FABRIC:
2 yards 42”-44” wide material
Stabilizer:
½ yard 1-sided fusible ultra firm

OPTIONAL MATERIALS:
contrasting top-stitching thread



CUTTING:

Material:
bag (1) 36”x19”
bottom (1) 13”x19” (contrasting material, if desired)
straps cut (2) 36”x4” (contrasting material, if desired)
If making the bag with shoulder straps you will need to cut
(2) 60”x4” (contrasting material, if desired)
pocket (1) 9 ½”x8”
Stabilizer:
(1) 12”x8”
(2) 18”x2 3/8”



Please have all your material and stabilizer cut before class.
Your seams will be ¼” & ½” so please bring appropriate piecing foot for your sewing machine. Also, for tacking you will need a zigzag foot.
