Newsletter 3/18/20

Hello!

First and foremost, I want to thank each and every one of you for the many years we've been able to serve you as Asheville Cotton Co.

YOU are our family. (The good side of the family that you actually like to hang out with.) I've known many of you since the first days in that tiny little shop with 90 bolts of fabric. That sounds like a lot until you actually see it. I had three bolts of fabric per shelf. One in the back, and one angled on each side!

Then... and now...

Things have changed a lot since then, but what hasn't changed is our commitment to you, our family!

Many have asked us what we're going to do during this uncertain time. Your guess is as good as mine! But I do have a plan for now... (subject to change at any moment!)

We're working very hard and very quickly to adjust our business so that we can still serve you as we have for 23 years. Flexibility is one of my strong suits.

We suspect we will be very busy with phone calls and have modified hours during this time. Please leave a message if you reach our voicemail so that we may help you!

We will be posting openings and closings at the top of our website front page. Check there first!

Facebook Live Events

We're going to do more Facebook Live Events like we did last weekend for our $5 Quilt Clubs. You can check them out under the "Videos" tab at www.facebook.com/ashevillequiltshop. Our $5 Quilt Club videos reached more than 11,000 people last week! I guess that's what they call "going viral?"

If you haven't "Followed" our page, be sure to do that so you can see when we post new videos.

We will be showcasing fabric collections and more during these live events. Simply tune in to our Facebook page during the announced time. (If you "follow" our page, you'll get a notification when we go live.) We are planning to do one sometime late this morning, but you can always watch them later under the "Videos" tab if you don't see us live. If you see something that catches your attention, call us and we can give you suggestions on how to use the fabric or make a kit personalized just for you!

We also post tantalizing pictures of the newest fabrics on Instagram here. Check it out.

Online Shopping

You've been asking us for years.... :-)

We've worked so very hard in the last week to get new kits and Fat Quarter Pizzas ready to order directly from our website. You'll want to keep checking back, as we're adding items to our online store daily.

Check out our online store here!

Also, if you can think of anything you need that you don't see on our site (perhaps to match something you're working on), give us a call. We'll give you a number or email to send pictures to so we can match it with the perfect fabric. We've been doing this for years, so we've got lots of experience with that.

We will ship almost anything for a flat rate of $5, and free shipping on orders over $100.

We (and other small businesses you normally patronize) greatly appreciate any business you can send our way!

Help With Your Sewing Machine

Call us with any questions you have about your sewing machine. We have lots of experience helping people over the phone with machine issues. We can usually help even with sewing machine brands we don't sell. We want to keep you sewing!

How About a NEW Machine?!

What better time to get to know a new machine? We love to match people with their "sew mates!" Many of our machines are listed on our website, www.ashevillecottonco.com, with my own personal notes about why I love each one, but it's even easier to call us so we can discuss your needs. We have a variety of methods of getting a new machine to you (including a lift on the machine shipping ban in many cases), and of course, making sure you know how to use it once you get it! We do have financing options available, as always.

The Bernina Spring Sale is still happening March 20-31! I know many of you were waiting for this sale. Click here for more information.

The Baby Lock March specials continue, including great bundle offers! Check them out here and give us a call.

The Janome 99th Anniversary sale is still going, including an online giveaway! You can see it here.

Customer Quilt Show

Spring is traditionally the time for our annual Customer Quilt Show to benefit charity. I suspect the money we raise will be especially beneficial for MANNA FoodBank here in Asheville this year. We're going to hold off announcing the dates for this, but I just wanted to remind you to be working on your entries!

Thank You

Thank you again for being able to serve you, and we really appreciate your support. Rest assured, your Asheville Cotton Co. family is constantly thinking of ways to adapt, develop and even grow during this time. Sending love from our family to yours!
