New fabric ... and quilt club starting soon!!!
First, here's our newest lines that came in this week! We get in way more than I post to the blog here, so make sure to always check the "newest fabrics" tab of our "shop" section!
And now..... 2023 Quilt Club!!!
We've got lots of exciting changes in store for our ACC Quilt Club this year!

First off, we'll be having Quilt Club LIVE IN PERSON IN THE STORE! We're so excited to get back together again with you guys. We've missed the energy and sharing opportunities. We'll also work on getting our meetings on our Facebook Live videos for those who can't be with us in person. (I've gotta find a phone tripod or something!) :-)

Each month, starting in March, we will meet on the second Saturday of the month and the day before (it won't always be the second Friday!) There will be three meetings from which to choose: Friday at 10am, Friday at 5:30pm or Saturday at 10am. Our last meeting for the year will be in December. So, the first meeting this year is:

Friday, March 10, 10am
-or-
Friday, March 10, 5:30pm
-or-
Saturday, March 11, 10am

Each meeting will begin with announcements and showing off all the wonderful new products we've gotten in since last time we met. Then, we'll do show and tell, so be sure to bring your projects. This is a favorite part of the club meeting!

Although it's not required to participate, another fun part of Quilt Club has always been working on the sampler quilt blocks. After trying various things such as making the blocks smaller, we've decided to go back to a 12" quilt block this year. Yay! This year will be traditional piecing, and you're going to love the colorways. (It's a secret until the big reveal!)

Your first block kit (with fabric and instructions) will be $10. You will receive a $5 Cotton Cash coupon back. Cotton Cash can be used on anything in the store except Quilt Club blocks. Cotton Cash will expire at the end of the month it was issued, you can't get change back from it, and it cannot be used to cover a shipping charge, but other than that, you can spend it on anything you'd like, including sale items and items to be shipped!

The next month, come to one of the free ACC Quilt Club meetings or any other time that month, show us your completed block from last month, and you'll get the next month's block kit for FREE! (Yep, still free after 20 years.) Note that we are not requiring you to come to a club meeting to get a free block. As long as you come to the store in person (with completed block in hand) sometime that month to pick it up, it will be free.

If you don't get your block completed during that month or can't make it to the store in person, no problem! You can purchase your block for $10, and get the $5 Cotton Cash back. The following month, be sure to get your block completed and bring it to the Quilt Club meeting or to the store sometime that month, and you'll be back on track to get a FREE block the next month!

As before, there will be two different colorways from which to choose, and an optional Expansion Block so that you can make your quilt larger. Each block kit beyond your free one will be $10, with $5 Cotton Cash back on each!

To re-cap:
  • ACC Quilt Club will meet IN PERSON this year.
  • Always the second Saturday at 10am, or the day before at 10am or 5:30pm. (It's not always the second Friday).
  • You do not have to participate in the quilt block program to come to Quilt Club.
  • You do not have to be present at a Quilt Club meeting to get a free block, but you will need to pick it up IN PERSON sometime before the next meeting to get it for free. (No free blocks will be mailed.)
  • The $10 block price includes tax, so there will be a cash line on Quilt Club days for express checkout.
  • Yes, a friend can pick up your block, but it will cost $10, with $5 Cotton Cash back.
  • Yes, we will mail blocks, but it will cost $10, with $5 Cotton Cash back, and a flat rate of $5 shipping will apply to your whole order.
  • Cotton Cash will expire at the end of the month it was issued. No change will be given back for unused Cotton Cash and it has no cash value. Yes, you can use Cotton Cash on items to be shipped, but no, you can't use the Cotton Cash on block purchases or to pay for shipping.
  • Most people purchase an optional Expansion kit, and a huge number choose to do all four blocks each month. Any block above the free block will be $10, with $5 in Cotton Cash back.
  • Check out some quilts from recent Quilt Clubs here.
  • The end result is a win-win for everyone! We can continue to offer Quilt Club and if you use your Cotton Cash your net cost is still just $5 for the first month and just $5 per extra block kit if you choose to do them.

As always, we really appreciate you guys! If you have any questions, be sure to email us at ashevillecottonco@gmail.com or give us a call.

Please send us your "then and now" quilt pictures! We want to see how you have grown with us! So send us two pictures; one of your very first quilt or project (25 years ago or not) and your favorite recent project! We will be sharing these as a part of our upcoming 25th anniversary celebration!
Please email these images to ashevillecottonco@gmail.com, and let us know if we can share who the photos belong to or if you'd rather stay anonymous, as well as whenabouts the items were made, and any other info you'd like to include!

A few things going on here at Asheville Cotton Co!
First of all, we are in the middle of Carolina Shop Hop! For full info, you can visit carolinashophop.com.
If you are seeing this after hop is over, we will probably still have some blocks left, so call us, send an email, or drop by if you'd like one!
We also just unboxed a great new kid's line from Northcott, "Prehistoric World"!
Lastly, we are hosting a bus trip!
Come hang out with friends, both old and new, while checking out some new and different quilt shops. Leave the driving to us! We are hosting a bus trip on Tuesday, September 13 (the previous date of Sept. 20 was incorrect!)
The trip will start at ACC and go to Bless My Stitches in Murphy, TN, to Chattanooga Quilts in Chattanooga, TN, to Cherry Pit in Sevierville, TN, and then back to Asheville. It's going to be a blast!
The day will start at 7:30am and we'll have lunch and snacks on the bus. We plan to be back in Asheville around 7:30pm. The cost is $110 including lunch, snacks and a special tote bag for all your loot.
It's about an hour and a half between shops on a nice charter bus. We'll be playing quilt-y games and enjoying other fun activities during the ride. Our beloved Bethany Marler, who moved away this year, has agreed to be your hostess for this event (barring any unforeseen circumstances, of course). If you know Bethany, you know she will bring the party up a notch!
