Supplies:
~Sewing machine with foot pedal and power cord. Your machine must be able to sew through rope - which I'd liken a couple layers of denim. Machine must be able to do a zig zag stitch.
~Regular zigzag presser foot (#1 for Bernina, J for Babylock, etc.)
~ Cream color thread and a bobbin filled with cream thread. (Or match your thread color to your coordinate fabric.)
~ Rotary cutter and small cutting mat. Some will be available in the classroom, but feel free to bring your own.
~90/14 jeans needle.
~Scissors with a small tip.
~Spare scissors that will cut through rope - inexpensive ones work fine.
~4 fabric clips
~ Hyper Tough Diamond Braided Cotton Clothesline, Natural Color 3/16-inch x 100 feet, you can find this at big box stores.
~ glue stick
~ Fat quarter for the center of your bowl- Should have a definable design - such as a flower, Santa, animal, etc.
~ 1 - 2 1/2" cut strips - coordinating fabric, please cut strips before class.
~ 6x6" heat and bond lite - NO steam a seam please.
This is a beginner rope bowl class. Students will learn the basic techniques to create a rope bowl with a decorative fabric bottom and fabric embellished side. These bowls make great gift, and are good for holding small objects, keys, phone, etc.
