The Making Backpack

Hello! Let’s make the Making Backpack!
You can make the regular size or mini. My Sample will be the mini size. This bag can and will be made out of quilting cotton through out! I’m talking Straps, handles, and tabs. We will use a SF 101 and a medium weight for a nice crisp bag without the Wrestling Match, needed when using Waxed Canvas!!! Trust me! We will make our own binding for the interior finish (so we can have fun with our coordinated fabrics) My combo of fabrics is The Little Beasts by Tula Pink!
So, that being said let’s get our supplies together and do our Homework in advance sew we can sew all day trouble free.

The pattern is not included in the class fee. We do have them in stock at Asheville Cotton Co!

Thanks for purchasing your supplies at ACC. It helps us to continue having great classes!

***There is homework!! Make sure you scroll to the bottom for that before class!**

Supplies:
Please refer to your pattern for amounts of fabric. Allowing an extra 1/2 yard for straps and binding.
Example. For Mini:
Exterior: 1 full yard instead of 1/2yd
Lining : 1 1/8  yards  instead of 5/8yd
Fusible interfacing 1 1/2 yards, such as SF101

Homework:
*Read your pattern before class, marking with a highlighter your size. Mini sizes are in {} brackets or () parentheses throughout instructions.
*Cut out ALL parts and pieces, labeling them with labels provided with the pattern! If you are making your own straps, be sure to cut that out as well!
* Apply fusible to wrong side of bag pieces.

Come on out! It will be fun for all and with homework done ahead of time, we can likely finish our bag in class!
