11th Annual ACC Customer Quilt Show
We're excited to announce the dates of the 11th Annual Asheville Cotton Co. Customer Quilt Show.

The Customer Quilt Show is different from other shows in that you don’t have to be an expert to enter the show or to win. Any size project is welcome. Projects don't even have to be quilted or bound!

We did even better than expected with our show last year, so we will once again be virtual this year. Send us a picture of your quilt or project to We'd especially like to see your quilt on your porch or with flowers, but it's not a requirement. Something very cheery and spring-y!

Include in your email:
1) Your name
2) Name of the Quilt
3) Name of the book or pattern if you happen to know
4) The quilt's "story." Every quilt has a story. What's the story about this one? Who is it for? Why do you like it? What did you learn? That sort of thing.

We'll post pictures of the quilts on our website and on our Facebook page. Voters will get to do a thumbs-up on their favorite quilts on the Facebook page, and may also choose to make a donation toward any quilt or quilts on our website. You're encouraged to vote on your own quilt, and get your family and friends involved as well! 100% of all donations will once again go to MANNA FoodBank right here in Asheville.

MANNA FoodBank is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization serving Western North Carolina since 1983 and an accredited member of Feeding America, the nation’s largest domestic hunger relief organization. In fiscal year 2019/2020 MANNA distributed 21.5 million pounds of food to thousands of families through some 200+ community-based food assistance agencies in 16 Western North Carolina counties.

Quilt makers whose quilts receive the most money in donations to MANNA will win valuable prizes! We'll also have prizes for the most popular quilts on Facebook, but remember, the purpose of this show is to raise money, so the best prizes will go to the entries that earn the most money. This event typically raises several thousand dollars each year. Over the years, Asheville Cotton Co. and our customers have contributed more than $24,000 to MANNA FoodBank. That's more than 60,000 meals!

We're taking quilt picture entries through Sunday, May 30. We don't know exactly how long it will take to get the show online, so we'll be letting you know that later.
Machine Mastery Classes
We're ready to get back to some classes!

One of the perks of purchasing a machine from ACC is our series of Machine Mastery classes. Traditionally, we have offered these during the day and evening as a series of five 2-hour classes (six if you have machine embroidery). Sorry, Machine Mastery classes are only available if you purchased a machine here at Asheville Cotton Co.

In order to help as many people as quickly as possible, I've decided to start out with a shorter series of classes, and do more demos than hands-on sewing. I'm also going to break these classes down into groups to make it go a bit faster.

Berninas: Tuesdays, May 18 and 25, 9:30am to 12:30pm
Baby Locks, Janomes and Eversewn machines: Wednesdays, May 19 and 26, 9:30am to 12:30pm

I'm going to probably offer it this way (maybe switch up the days) for a few rounds to see how it goes. We'll eventually get back to more hands-on, shorter classes, more sessions and some evening classes, so if the above schedule doesn't suit you, don't worry. We'll eventually get you into a class.
If you'd like to sign up for one of the above classes, please call or email us at to sign up. Preference will be given to those who purchased their machines this past year and haven't been able to take a class yet.
Remember, if this timeframe doesn't work out right now, we'll be doing more later. No worries!
Baby Lock - For the Love!
Baby Lock machines and sergers are all on sale now! Send us an email at, give us a call, or come by and we'll help you narrow down your choices!
Stay in Touch!
We have been very busy lately, and we thank you so much! When we get new boxes of fabric in, the girls open them on live video. It's so much fun to watch! You can check out the recorded videos on Facebook here. To get notifications when we go live, be sure to "follow" our page. They're even more fun when an impromptu video pops up on your notifications.
Thanks So Much!
Thank you all so very much for all you've done this year for small businesses this year, including us. We couldn't have made it without you! Come see us soon, and please let us know how we can help you. I'm doing a lot of machine troubleshooting via email at Most days I'm really quick with that, but I am taking this long weekend off! :-)
