"Project Comfort & Joy"

We're already getting some trees and stockings! Thank you all!!!

You guys have been very generous already with all the donations for our Stash Bash for Santa Pal and for our sewing friends who lost their machines and supplies. Your help has been so appreciated and amazing!

Now you can also make the holidays a little brighter for our neighbors who have been displaced by Hurricane Helene! It's hard to get accurate numbers, but the recent news said that more than 100,000 homes were damaged or destroyed completely by the storm. Many of these people are living in shelters, hotel rooms, with friends and family, campers, and even in tents.

We're asking everyone to help us spread holiday cheer by making Christmas stockings and handmade Christmas trees. These will be distributed throughout Western NC. We'll also have Menorahs and candles available. How  many do we need? We don't know! We're just collecting as many as we can.

See more information on our website here, including an easy peasy stocking pattern (or use your own.) Please share with all your crafty friends. We're hoping to start distributing these right before or shortly after Thanksgiving, so we don't have much time. Please bring or mail stockings and trees to us as soon as possible!

Do you have a way to get these out to people living in temporary shelters/tents/hotel rooms/campers? Especially in the outlying areas who may not be able to get into Asheville? Please email us at ashevillecottonco@gmail.com. We need your help!

Join us for some low-key, no-stress sewing time! TOMORROW! Thursday, Noember 21, and/or Tuesday, November 26, 1p. Bring any project, but this would be a perfect time to sew up some stockings or make a Christmas tree for "Project Comfort and Joy." Come sit and sew with us! Sign up here, but if you don't have time to sign up, just show up! We're just trying to get an idea of how much room we need. We've got cutting and pressing equipment, a hot glue gun, and all kinds of scrap fabric. Bring your machine if you are going to sew. Bring fun trims, beads, styrofoam or cardboard cones, yarn, pinecones, etc., if you would like!

Thanks So Much!

We've been so happy to see those of you who have come in during the last few weeks. We also really appreciate the orders from near and far, as well as the Gift Card purchases. Fall is usually one of our busiest seasons thanks to tourists, so everything helps right now!

On a personal note, thank you for all the support you've given to our store and to our daughter during this time. It means so much to us all to know you are thinking of us. Alice Drue is hanging in there and planning for the future!

Thank you guys for hanging out with us all these years. We are so honored that you are our friends and customers. Come see us soon, and please let us know how we can help you.
