Another Fantastic Customer Quilt Show
Asheville Cotton Co's annual customer quilt show just wrapped up last Saturday. Not only were the quilts absolutely fantastic, we raised almost $3000 for MANNA Food Bank. That's over 11,000 meals! Thank you so much to everyone who entered, voted, and donated.
First place for most money raised AND first place for free in-store votes was #51 Zootropolis by Jill K:
"When I became a grandmother, I was inspired by this pattern to make a special quilt for my grandchildren to have at my home when they visited. It was enjoyable to make, going through my scraps for the just right piece for the different squares. My grandchildren and I have had so much fun identifying the animals, talking about their sounds, colors and the silly things they’re doing."

Second place for most money raised was #36 "My Helene Quilt" by Sarah B.:
"Helene left these quilt blocks under water and mud for 4 days. I had added them to the burn pile, but my children pulled them out- encouraging me to try and save them. Laundry Basket Quilts graciously sent me a new pattern. In the spring of 2025, I started trying to put them together, it was a slow and painful process. I finally attached the binding in February 2026. I still have mixed emotions about this quilt. It is a reminder of everything we lost, but also that we continue to piece our lives back together . It survived Helene with many scars (don’t look too close!) and so have we. Thank you for supporting Manna Food Bank."

Third place for most money raised was #22 "I Spy" by Charlotte N.: "Just using up scraps!"
A very close fourth place for most money raised was #6 "Garden Dancer" by Sandra B.:
"This is a Phoebe Moon design in an Attic Window Setting. I always enjoy using half-square triangles to create unique patterns. The 3D effect enhances the quilt magic."
And our first place winner for most likes on Facebook was #57 "Jacket Turtle Love" by Patti P.:
"My first garment class. I learned there is a right and left sleeve… Whoops! Worked on the binding during the flood, and found the buttons in my mom’s button stash - Good memories made! The sleeve has a turtle from one year of the ACC quilt club."
