Machine Mastery Starts Next Week

We're starting up new sessions of our famous Machine Mastery classes next week. Classes are Mondays at 5:30pm and Tuesdays at 10am. If you have ever purchased a machine at Asheville Cotton Co., you can bring that machine to Machine Mastery as many times as you like! You will not need to bring your machine for class #1. We don't need for you to sign up, but if the weather is "iffy," or if you will be driving some distance to come to Mastery, please check out our website at before you come, just in case there is a closing announcement. Sorry, these Mastery classes are only for those who purchased machines at ACC; not available otherwise. You can check out a listing of what's covered in each class, as well as specific dates at

Stash Bash Coming Up!

We're taking donations for our annual Stash Bash event. Our awesome customers have raised more than a thousand dollars each year for the Santa Pals organization right here in Asheville! You know that project (those projects) that you have just sitting there, waiting to be finished, that just aren't going to happen?  Well, we are going to get rid of those pesky little suckers. Bring all of your UFOs (UnFinished Objects), WOMBATs (Wastes Of Money, Batting And Time), partially finished quilt projects, finished quilt tops you'll never quilt, and even completely finished quilts to us.

We'll kick off the holiday season on Thursday, November 14, with a grand party starting at 5pm (you can arrive any time). Then, you can bid on everybody else's stash!  This will be a silent auction with pens down at 6pm. You can start bidding as soon as we get the classroom ready, which should be around 3pm. All money raised will go to Asheville's very own Santa Pal organization, which has been donating toys to children in need since 1936! This year, we do have a Baby Lock Evolution Serger and an Electronic Cutting Machine that we are raffling off. $5 per chance, or three for $10. You may purchase raffle tickets at any time. We have jars on the counter. Please see a list of helpful hints and rules here.

Please bring your "Stash Bash" donations by Saturday, November 9. Earlier than that is appreciated! And be sure to put Thursday, November 14 on your calendar. We always have so much fun!

New Classes

We've got some great classes coming up, including a new Wrapped Cord Basket, a Quilt-As-You-Go Stocking class, and No-Sew Ornaments. These make great gift ideas! We also have classes for quilting with an embroidery machine, and using the Baby Lock Sashiko machine. Check out all the classes here.

Bra-La-La Voting Ends Thursday

You only have a couple more days to vote on the "Bra-La-La" bra decorating contest in honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. All proceeds will go to Hope Chest for Women, which offers limited financial assistance to women in Western NC who are undergoing breast or gynecological cancer treatment. When you come in this month, you'll get a free vote for your favorite decorated bra, and have a chance to donate. Winners will get prizes from Asheville Cotton Co.!
Clothing Donation Drive

We are pleased to be a drop off site for the Warm Hearts, Warm Hands Winter Clothing Donation Drive to benefit Helpmate of Asheville. Through November 9, we will accept *gently used* coats, jackets, sweaters, scarves, gloves/mittens, and *new* hats, warm pajamas and long underwear.
