Carpenter's Star, disappearing nine patch
I started the carpenter's star pattern (grandsons last name is carpenter) then quickly decided to go in a different direction. Used a disappearing nine patch to frame the middle square. The disappearing nine was a pattern shared at a quilt club demo. I made this for my youngest grandson who picked the charm squares from my stash. All along the way when Will was at our house he was checking the progress of his quilt. He is a lover of football, track and his favorite baseball. So the name of the quilt "Will's Big Game" has a double meaning sports and the fabric Alpine Woods with big game in blue. Couldn't decide which label to use so both stitched to help Will to know the bottom of the quilt and the animals and trees are in correct orientation on the bed.
